I began my Tae Kwon Do journey in May of 1999 at the DeWitt Fitness Center in DeWitt, Iowa. The fitness center had begun offering Tae Kwon Do classes in 1990 and the duty of teaching those classes had been passed down through the years. Rob Rands was the head instructor when I began training in the art. Rising through the ranks, I soon became an assistant instructor in 2002 and was handed the position of head instructor in 2008.
